The Fish

The lake was originally stocked with 20 hand picked carp of a very good strain between 6 and 10lbs. It was supplemented one year later with another 10 fish from the historic Weston Park in Shropshire. Since then the carp have grown on to over 30lbs and there are 7 fish over 27lbs at the time of writing.

The carp have also successfully spawned and some of the “newborns” have now reached 20lbs with a good head of upper doubles.

There are three fish which go over 30lbs, and the lake record is currently 33lb 5oz.
