The Lake
Originally excavated in 1964 for peat for the greens of a local golf club, the lake was drained down in 2000, de-silted, extended and landscaped to the 2 acre lake it is today by owner Rob Hughes.
With 7 different swims, only two of which are in sight of each other, the venue is reed fringed and tree lined with 4 different islands.
Averaging 4-5 feet in depth there are plenty of features, both above and below the surface, and the margins are a particularly attractive feature. Short range is the norm at Birchwood.
